Metallurgists / Materials Engineers
Metallurgists and Materials Engineers required for the failure investigation department in Aberdeen. The department carries out work for the Oil Industry, Power Generation and Supply Industry, Aviation industry and local Mechanical and Civil Engineering Companies.
Qualifications :
Degree or equivalent in Metallurgy or related subject
Experience :
At least 3yrs experience in failure investigation work essential.
Expertise in practical metallography and fractography required and an in-depth knowledge of corrosion processes would be useful.
Experience in an Industrial or Manufacturing sector would be an asset
Computer literacy is essential (a high level would be an advantage).

Metallurgical Technicians
Metallurgical Technicians required in Aberdeen. Duties include metallography (including on-site and replication skills),corrosion testing, and spectrographic analysis (in-house and portable)as well as providing assistance with hardness testing and mechanical testing when required.
Qualifications :
An engineering or material related qualification is preferred but not essential.
Experience :
2yrs min. in preparation of metallographic samples. The ability to recognise the structures of common materials would be an asset.
Appropriate training will be given where required. Possession of a current driving license is essential.
Computer literacy would be an advantage.
